Angelo Carusone, the head of Media Matters, responded and said, "the reason we released this is precisely because the things you say on your Fox News show echo the misogyny displayed in those clips".

After Media Matters published the radio audio and accompanying transcripts, which retained the context of each comment, the left pounced on Carlson, calling for a boycott of his Fox News show or for Fox News to fire Carlson altogether. Instead, he invited anyone who disagrees with his views as expressed these days on TV to come challenge him on Tucker Carlson Tonight. "If you're talking to a feminist, and she's given you, 'Well, men really need to be more sensitive, ' [say] no, actually, men don't need to be more sensitive". In 2006, he said it "gets women going" when men argue with them.

He didn't. Warren Jeffs didn't marry under age girls. You just need to be quiet and kind of do what you're told and lighten up a little bit.

He also made this gross comment about his own daughter, after the show hosts spoke about sexual experimentations at boarding school: "If it weren't my daughter I would love that scenario".

The audio included clips of Carlson criticizing high profile women in politics, media and popular culture.

Tucker Carlson, who speaks on the programme every week, is heard in the recordings from between 2006 and 2011 defending child marriage and making sexual comments about underage girls.

Bubba Appearances Haunting Carlson

Carlson even called the charges against polygamist and husband of child brides Warren Jeffs "bullshit" because "arranging a marriage between a 16-year-old and a 27-year-old is not the same as pulling a stranger off the street and raping her". During other segments, he described socialite Paris Hilton and pop singer Britney Spears as "two of the biggest white whores in America", and called Alexis Stewart, the daughter of Martha Stewart, "c*nty".

"What do you mean an accessory?"

He called Huffington "a pig" and used the c-word when discussing Stewart, noting that he wanted to "give her the spanking she so desperately needs". He's not in prison for polygamy, he's in prison for child rape. Some wrote to Carlson's advertisers directly on Twitter, asking why they were supporting the conservative host. "He's like got some weird religious cult where he thinks it's OK to, you know, marry underaged girls, but he didn't do it". "Because they hate weakness".

CARLSON: Look, just to make it absolutely clear.

A spokeswoman for Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Fox News has not issued a statement on the unearthed video.
