Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Thoughts on the Malik Jackson signing

Details on how much guaranteed money De Sean Jackson will get in restructured deal with Eagles

Details on how much guaranteed money De Sean Jackson will get in restructured deal with Eagles

The Eagles and wide receiver DeSean Jackson have been linked through a couple reports on Monday alone, and it appears the former Eagles second-round pick is poised to get his release from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The report notes that the Philadelphia Eagles are Jackson's preferred destination and that while the Bucs are looking to trade him, some other teams believe the veteran could be cut if a swap isn't realized.

Jackson, 29, spent the last three seasons in Jacksonville racking up 18.0 sacks from the inside.

Jackson's contract calls for him to make $10 million next year but he has no guaranteed money remaining on his deal.

The 32-year-old Jackson was dumped by the Eagles after posting what still stand as career highs in receptions (82), yards (1,332) and TD catches (nine) in the 2013 season.

What that means for Nelson Agholor remains to be seen, as the Eagles could decide to move on from his $9.5 million salary cap hit.

DeSean Jackson is headed back to Philadelphia.

Jackson, 29, wasn't expected to be on the market long as he still looks to be a top-5 three-technique pass rusher in the league in the interior.

He has one year left on his current contract and has expressed some frustration with Tampa Bay's offense. He played just 79 percent of the offensive snaps last season and missed more than half the 2017 season, including the entire postseason, after wrecking a knee.
