"As long as the list member didn't inherit a business or money, she is labeled self-made", Forbes explained in an article last July.

Other newcomers on Forbes' list include Spotify co-founders Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon, who are worth $2.3 billion and $3.1 billion, respectively.

The official Twitter account for has once again challenged reports that describe Kylie Jenner as a "self-made" billionaire.

But critics found it troubling that the magazine deliberately ignored the role that Jenner's rich and privileged family played in her success.

Jenner, the half-sister of Kim Kardashian West, said the recognition is a "nice pat on the back". Zuckerberg first featured on the list when he was just 23 years old but now doesn't hold the "record".

"When you say self-made billionaire, I just thought she'd got it because her sister made a sex tape and that is why they all became hugely rich". Jenner has 128 million followers on Instagram alone, where she constantly posts about her new products.

Appering to claim Liam's star is fading since One Direction split in 2016, Piers lashed: "Mate, no offence but I really wouldn't play the relevancy card right now".

One prominent person who has sided with Jenner on this issue is Nadeshot, who tweeted out in her defense on March 5, calling the criticism of her newly earned status "nonsense". Kylie Cosmetics is worth around $900 million, Forbes estimates, and Jenner owns 100 percent of it.

Her mother Kris would not rule out that she may sell the company in the future.

Forbes magazine formally welcomed Kylie to the billionaire club on Tuesday after her lipstick company, Kylie Cosmetics, ballooned in net worth to over a billion dollars, yes that's nine zeroes.

But while her eye-watering wealth isn't in dispute, many commentators have noted that Jenner hasn't exactly come from the average family. Past year alone, her brand grew by an estimated whopping $360 million.
