Samsung had been teasing and leaking details about a foldable phone for several years now

On the back of the Mi Mix 3 5G is a dual-lens camera, both with 12MP. And to ensure that the Mi MIX 3 5G won't end up in flames, Xiaomi has introduced a new hybrid cooling system that quickly captures heat using a Ragers HeatSORB material which is then dispersed three times faster thanks to a heatpipe with six layers of graphite. This phone isn't a slider like the Mi Mix 3, but at least it's packing a OnePlus 6T-like teardrop notch instead of a hole-punch.

We don't have an exact release date for the Mi Mix 3 5G, but the company has said it'll be out around May 2019.

Alongside the unveiling of the Mi Mix 3 5G and the Mi Light Bulb, Xiaomi showed off the recently unveiled Mi 9 on the global stage. The base variant offering 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs 3,299 yuan (Rs 34,700), another variant that offers 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage costs 3,999 yuan (Rs 42,100). At the launch event, Xiaomi demonstrated the readiness of Mi MIX 3 5G with a live demo, made possible using the 5G network provided by Orange Spain.

It gets even more impressive with a Snapdragon 855 inside, which is necessary to add that hyped 5G capability. The Mi 9 packs a 6.4-inch screen, in-screen fingerprint sensor, sapphire glass lens covers over the rear "AI triple-camera" module - which includes a 48MP Sony camera - and a mesmerizing reflective nano-laser engraved holographic pattern and nano-coating to produce a rainbowed halo effect on the Mi 9's Gorilla Glass 5 back that I can not stop staring at. The phone has 3,200 mAh battery and runs on Android 9 on top of MiUi 10 skin. Samsung also introduced two 5G smartphones - Galaxy Fold and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.

Back in 2018, Xiaomi announced its first smartphone with a sliding camera, the Mi MIX 3. The company's latest flagship phone, the Mi 9 boasts not just of the latest specs but also of a triple AI camera, one of which is a whopping 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor.

Huawei's latest foldable phone, Mate X, also supports 5G. There's a 12MP wide angle and 12MP telephone lens on the rear, along with a 24MP primary and 2MP depth sensor on the front.
