Massachusetts Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren drew cheers in Iowa by suggesting that President Donald Trump may end up in prison before the 2020 presidential election.

"It's no longer just the Mueller investigation", Warren said. 'Keep America Great!' Donald Trump Unveils 2020 US Presidential Election Campaign Slogan. "Every day, there is a racist tweet, a hateful tweet, something really dark and ugly".

"Are we going to let him use those to divide us?"

Her visit at the event, hosted by the National Conference of American Indians, comes after she apologized last week to the Cherokee Nation for releasing a DNA test in October in an attempt to prove she had Native ancestry. Most show the best-known potential candidates, like Vice President Joe Biden and Sen.

Warren has said the story of Pocahontas long has "been taken away by powerful people who twisted it to serve their own purposes". "Yeah. Donald Trump is the symptom of a badly broken system", Warren said.

'Elizabeth Warren has already been exposed as a fraud by the Native Americans she impersonated and disrespected...' "In fact, he may not even be a free person".

Saturday's appearance is part of a series of organizing events that Warren is holding around the country to boost support for the USA senator from Massachusetts' presidential campaign in early primary states.

Trump's tweet came shortly after Warrens formal declaration, where she urged a crowd in Lawrence, Massachusetts to back the "fight of our lives" against corruption and slanted regulations in Washington.

New Mexico Democratic Rep. Deb Haaland, one of the first Native American women in Congress, said on CNN's "At This Hour" with Kate Bolduan that she took Trump's remark to be about the Trail of Tears. There is no evidence Warren's ancestry claims have ever helped her advance her career.

Warren, however, has been dealing with the fallout from a serious scandal that some say impugns her credibility and personal code of ethics.

Voters in Cedar Rapids did not ask Warren about the controversy during a question-and-answer session, focusing instead on her stances on issues including tariffs and student loan debt.
