In another development, Manchester United has also reached an agreement with Chinese club, Shandong Luneng, over the transfer of Maroune Fellaini from Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old barely featured for Manchester United so far this campaign.

Former Everton player Fellaini, who a year ago signed a new and improved deal until 2020, was a key figure at Old Trafford under previous manager Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United have secured forward Anthony Martial on a new lucrative five-year contract while midfielder Marouane Fellaini has agreed to leave after five years at the Premier League giants.

Martial has scored eight goals in 18 league matches this season and interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backed the player to continue his good form.

He has passed a medical at Shandong, who are third in the CSL, despite missing United's last four games with a calf injury.

In a statement in the club's official website, the Red Devils applauded the Belgium worldwide, who arrived Old Trafford from Everton in August 2013.

Fellaini arrived in 2013 as a 27.5 million-pound ($36 million) signing by his former Everton boss Moyes. He then emerged as a key player for Louis van Gaal, though, helping them win the FA Cup in 2016.

The Norwegian will hope to have the Frenchman back against Claude Puel's Foxes, when United's unbeaten record run could extend into double figures.

United fans have all been wishing Fellaini good luck over the past 24 hours as he prepares to embark on a new adventure in China, where he will live a life of luxury.
