Resident Evil TV series in development at Netflix that will expand the mythology behind the films

Netflix is now developing a Resident Evil TV series, according to a Deadline report. Constantin Film, the studio behind the six Paul W.S. Anderson-directed movies, is said to be working with the streaming service to develop the project. A Resident Evil Netflix TV show is apparently in the works and, while details are thin on the ground, there are a couple of interesting tidbits that will either make you very excited or very sceptical.

This includes the Resident Evil 2 Hunk scenario: The 4th Survivor.

The new series, which will be a Netflix global original, "will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus", according to Deadline.

The first Resident Evil game was released on the PlayStation in 1996 and the first movie starring Milla Jovovich as Alice was released later down the line in 2002. Although her character was created specifically for the films, Alice interacted with a several familiar faces from the video games.

Back in the beginning of January 2019, Capcom confirmed that the bonus modes from the 1998 Resident Evil 2 would be returning for the remake. The movies earned over $1 billion at the box office.

When you complete the Scenario, which'll be the A one, you'll unlock another option on the main menu called "New Game (2nd Run)" which allows you access to the B Scenario.

At time of writing, the game is still going strong, with a player count well in excess of 40,000, and I expect it'll continue to rise over the weekend.
