Everton are reportedly planning a winter approach for Michy Batshuayi, who is scheduled to return from an unsuccessful loan move with Valencia.

Everton are showing an interest in signing Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi this month.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, January 10, Valencia's sporting director Mateu Alemany confirmed the Belgian forward will be returning to west London this January.

"We are expecting an exit in the few hours or days". We hope that, for his sake, this can be resolved as soon as possible.

He did make 23 appearances for the club, but only managed to scored three goals during his stay. "He is leaving and it's now a matter of negotiation".

Batshuayi joined Valencia on a season-long deal last summer from Chelsea.

There has been no indication from Chelsea that they want to keep hold of him, despite the club's striker struggles with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.

Everton had been considering a bid of up £18 million ($23m) for Batshuayi given they are unable to sign him on loan.

Should he complete the move to the Ligue 1 strugglers then he would reunite with Thierry Henry, with the former Arsenal striker and current Monaco manager having previously worked as a coach for the Belgian national team.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain, who thrived under Sarri at Napoli.

Batshuayi has spent the first half of the season at Valencia, but the Belgium worldwide is scheduled to return to Stamford Bridge after scoring just twice in eight starts and 12 substitute outings in La Liga and the Champions League.
