Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya has quickly apologised for controversial comments made on a TV chat show

World Cup-winning India cricketer Harbhajan Singh slammed Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, saying the two cricketers have lost the trust their reputations and the trust of their teammates after making inappropriate comments on Koffee With Karan. As Johar dove into Pandya's personal life, the latter made several free-wheeling remarks that displayed immaturity and an ingrained sense of misogyny, with people billing his comments as "crass, creepy, sexist, racist, and cringe-worthy". Also, the BCCI Player Agreements defines "gross misconduct" as, "Any conduct which may bring disrepute to the game of cricket and/or the BCCI including the Office Bearers of the BCCI".

Pandya, who was in the squad that beat Australia for the first time in an away Test series, boasted on the TV celebrity show about his success with multiple women.

Hardik and Rahul were not only criticised heavily on social media, but also earned the disapproval of their captain Virat Kohli, who on Friday, denounced the statements made by them on Koffee With Karan, which is hosted by filmmaker-producer Karan Johar. "As a responsible platform, we have removed the episode from Hotstar with immediate effect". Edulji had initially suggested a two-match suspension for the duo but referred the matter to the legal cell after Vinod Rai agreed with her and recommended the same.

Not tolerating Pandya and Rahul's indecent banter on KWK 6, BCCI has now suspended the two cricketers till pending injury and they will likely be returning to India to justify their comments in front of the enquiry committee. "I'm little from the black side so I need to see how they move". In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments.

"I like to watch and observe how they (women) move".

Another exchange that drew criticism was when KJo asked, "If you all hit on the same women, then how do you decide?". If he comes and stands next to you at a party, would you like to stand next to him?

Meanwhile, it is speculated that the BCCI might bar players from appearing on entertainment shows owing to the ongoing furore.

"From the Indian cricket team's point of view, this changes nothing in our beliefs in the changing room, it does nothing to the spirit we have have been able to create. We are still waiting for a decision to be made".
