A trailer for the latest animated adaptation of the character was unveiled Friday on Netflix.

In the clip, Carmen is seen in her early days training at the V.I.L.E academy for thieves, recanting how she changed her mindset after learning the art of the heist.

From worldwide escapades to intergalactic adventures, fans have spent decades following expert thief Carmen Sandiego all over the map through video games. They performed the famous theme song "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?".

The new series will look at the origins of the worldwide thief as she looks to stop V.I.L.E., the group that responsible for turning her into an global criminal.

Rodriguez will also be playing the character in a live-action Netflix film - with a premiere date yet to be announced. 'It does harm people, especially when you're willing to steal lives.
