EPL: Sarri reveals why he substituted Hudson-Odoi twice against Watford

Watford v Chelsea – Premier League – Vicarage Road

Bayern Munich have offered £13.5m plus add-ons for Callum Hudson-Odoi but Chelsea want at least £22.5m, Sky sources understand.

According to the Daily Mail, Germany heavyweights Bayern are set to make the Blues a £13million offer for the English dazzler in the New Year.

Borussia Dortmund on the other hand might also be interested in the teenager and will hope they can use Christian Pulisic as part of the deal to land Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi's future at Chelsea looks limited given Sarri's reliance on a small group of experienced players which he feels are capable of following his specific tactical instructions.

He's certainly not the finished article yet, but he's got electric speed and has shown he can go past full-backs easily.

Hudson-Odoi made his first Premier League appearance of the season after coming on as a substitute during Chelsea's 1-2 win away to Watford on Boxing Day, though the 18-year-old was later replaced in the match due to suffering his own injury late on at Vicarage Road.

Sarri has confirmed the problem at today's press conference with the Chelsea manager revealing that Pedro is facing around 10 days on the sidelines meaning he could miss the games against Palace, Southampton, Nottingham Forest and possibly the League Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham on January 8th.

Hudson-Odoi joined Chelsea at U8s level and is viewed as one of the finest talents in the club's academy and one of the best players the Blues have produced in recent seasons.

Though the Italian generally opts for the more mobile Hazard through the middle in Chelsea's front line, Pedro's absence will likely mean that the Belgian is forced to drift back out to his more natural left wing role.
