Monster Hunter World Iceborne was announced today, with an autumn 2019 release date pencilled in.

After Devil May Cry and Mega Man collaborations, Monster Hunter World is bringing the world of The Witcher to the Japanese RPG franchise. Offering a hefty preview, the Trial Version allows new players to experience quests up to the 3-star level and online multiplayer up to Hunter Rank 4.

In the trailer above, you'll notice Capcom seems to tease the appearance of a new monster - what looks like it'll be Nargacuga; a flying wyvern introduced in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

As for our boy Geralt, he'll be playable in a crossover collaboration after he's whisked through a portal to the world of Monster Hunter.

Though you won't get access to any expansion content, you'll be able to play a decent chunk of content. A PC version is in the works, but Capcom didn't have any further information to offer at time of writing.

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter World's first big expansion is called "Iceborne" along with also revealing that a certain popular Witcher will be heading to the game come early 2019. It will include brand new voice acting with Geralt's original actor. And your friends can snag it as well and join you in a co-op session, so you can take on these monsters with squad efficiency.

To cap things off, a free trial version of Monster Hunter: World will be available on PS4 and Xbox One from 4pm PST / 7pm EST / 12am BST tomorrow, December 11, through Sunday, December 16. Geralt is a trained monster hunter, after all.
