President of Argentina Mauricio Macri greets U.S. President Donald Trump upon his arrival during the opening day of Argentina G20 Leaders' Summit 2018 at Costa Salguero on November 30 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Argentina, marking the second meeting between the two leaders in Buenos Aires. Highlighting the need to work closely towards common interests, he stressed on the need for unity among developing nations of the world.

Hanging over the summit in Buenos Aires is the trade dispute between the United States and China, the world's two largest economies, which have imposed tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars on each other's imports.

"That this deal sets a path for the United Kingdom to a brighter future has been affirmed by the discussions I've had on trade over the past two days, with friends and partners making clear that they are keen to sign and implement ambitious free trade agreements with us as soon as possible", she said.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman showed himself to be no pariah Friday at the G20 summit, with a beaming Vladimir Putin welcoming him but European leaders warning him over the killing of a dissident journalist.

However, Trump made clear that he also wants to follow up on his historic June summit in Singapore as he tries to persuade the reclusive regime to give up its nuclear weapons.

For Trump, there was no escape from the lengthening shadow of the United States investigation over Russian meddling in his 2016 election, which is now reaching into his business affairs.

An expected high-profile bilateral meeting between Mr Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin planned for Saturday was abruptly cancelled by Mr Trump, who made the announcement in a tweet citing Russia's seizure of Ukrainian vessels over the weekend.

Mr Trump said he is hopeful for agreement at "some point". "I think they want to, and I think we'd like to". "The US should give its habitual winner-take-all approach to worldwide relations the weekend off", it said.

"I think the worst of it is that the conflict between China and the U.S.is again showing the limits of multilateral institutions, in particular the World Trade Organization", Roberto Bouzas, an worldwide relations and economics professor at the Universidad de San Andres, tells VOA.

The G20 had a rocky start following the meeting between Macri and Trump on Friday morning.

Meanwhile on the Paris climate agreement, from which the US announced its intention to withdraw previous year, the documents says that the signatories "reaffirm that the Paris Agreement is irreversible and commit to its full implementation, reflecting common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities, in light of different national circumstances".

Any easing of tensions on trade could ease gains in the U.S. dollar and boost riskier assets including emerging-market currencies and stocks, though investors and analysts agree that the USA and China are trying to fix a long-term problem that cannot be solved in one dinner.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel blamed the crisis "entirely" on Russian Federation and said she would raise the issue with Mr Putin. "If we can get any kind of trade indication in the coming weeks that there was a path to getting a deal done, I think people would be surprised how positively the market would react to that kind of news".

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who favours a measured approach, skipped the G-7 and G-20 finance ministers' meetings held a day before the leaders' summit began on Friday.

Saudi Arabia has insisted the prince had no prior knowledge of the killing.

"As is typical at multilateral events, President Trump and the first lady had a number of informal conversations with world leaders at the dinner last night, including President Putin", spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.
