Ivanka Trump Defends Using Private Email Account For Government Work

US President Donald Trump's daughter and adviser Ivanka has defended her use of a personal email account, saying it was nothing like Hillary Clinton's.

Roberts pressed Trump on this, once again attempting to equate President Trump's campaign rhetoric on Clinton's private server and mass deletions to her email use.

She was emphatic that "everything has been preserved" and stored in the White House system.

"There really is no equivalency", Trump told ABC's Deborah Roberts in an interview on "Good Morning America", adding that her emails were focused on "mainly scheduling and logistics and managing the fact that I have a home life and a work life".

Mrs Trump, who serves as an adviser to her father, Donald Trump, said there was "no equivalency" between her situation and that of Mrs Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential election days after the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced it was investigating newly discovered emails sent to or by the Democratic candidate.

When Roberts asked Ivanka if her father's authorization of "using lethal force if necessary" concerns her at all, Ivanka maintained his words had been twisted. "So there's no connection between the two things".

The first daughter came under fire this month when it emerged that she had used a private email to message officials on White House business previous year.

The president's eldest daughter said she also has nothing to worry about when it comes to special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election - but she wants the probe to conclude.

Ivanka Trump said in the interview that her email use violated no rules.

The FBI found classified information in some of the emails that were sent or received through her private server. She added, "and one of the reasons that I have such a good relationship with him in both a personal and professional capacity is because I am incredibly candid with him". "In fact, we're instructed that if we receive an email to our personal account that could relate to government work, you simply just forward it to your government account so it can be archived". I think it's been a long time that this has been ongoing, but I want it to be done in a way in which nobody could question that it was hurried or rushed.

The New York Times reported last week that, once in office, Trump wanted to order the U.S. Department of Justice to prosecute her but was dissuaded by his White House lawyer.

'I think it should reach its conclusion, ' she said.

On other issues, Ivanka Trump said she is not anxious about legal exposure for herself, her father or anyone else in her family regarding special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
