Former Ravens safety Ed Reed was included in the list of Modern-Era Semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame consideration, which was announced yesterday.

Other semifinalists are: Ronde Barber, Tony Boselli, Isaac Bruce, LeRoy Butler, Don Coryell, Alan Faneca, Tom Flores, Torry Holt, Steve Hutchinson, Edgerrin James, Ty Law, John Lynch, Clay Matthews, Kevin Mawae, Karl Mecklenburg, Sam Mills, Richard Seymour, Zach Thomas, Hines Ward and Darren Woodson.

He was named the Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year in 2004, made the Pro Bowl nine times and was selected to being First Team All-Pro on five occasions. He played on two Super Bowl teams and was the MVP of Super Bowl XL.

Steve Atwater and Jimmy Johnson are among 25 modern-day semifinalists for the hall.

Editor's note: Matt Maiocco is on the 48-member Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Selectors.

This group - Robinson, Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and Cowboys personnel director Gil Brandt - will be voted on separately, and like all finalists must receive 80 percent positive vote from the full selection committee on February 2, the day before the Super Bowl.

The Hall of Fame Selection Committee will hold their annual meeting on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019.

From that total, voting rules from the Hall of Fame stipulate that at least four people get inducted each year, with a maximum of eight. The Class of 2019 will be announced during the "NFL Honors" show that evening.

The Broncos also celebrated former safety Brian Dawkins' induction into the Hall of Fame in August.
