Gareth Southgate is expecting a thrilling clash as ever-improving England look to overcome World Cup semi-final foes Croatia and reach the inaugural Nations League Finals.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how England could line up for the crunch match.

The former Sevilla player made way for Nikola Vlasic on the 67th minute after seemingly pointing to his hamstring, an injury to which could lead to a lengthy lay off for Ivan Rakitic and pose as a threat to Barcelona. Unfortunately, Rakitic could not make it until the final whistle during the 3-2 victory of his nation.

If Croatia win Sunday's game, they will qualify for the semi-finals - but an England victory will send the Three Lions through to the last four. We learned a lot in both matches.

Relegation from the top tier awaits the defeated side, while a draw would see Spain top Group A4 despite losing 3-2 in their last two matches. "I'm happy with how we played even though there are things to improve".

"I am sure we have it in us to beat England", Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic said. At Barca there are plays that are rehearsed and trained and I could see that England also had those plays very well-worked.

"We know areas that we think we can try to exploit and it's two really evenly matchws teams".

"It is unprecedented that you come off the back of a major tournament and have so many strong tests in such a short period".

"At the moment, Croatia have that advantage that they beat us in extra-time in the semi-final".

"We're trying to break barriers down and play in a different way, a different style and we're getting better all the time so we're looking forward to the challenge tomorrow". "With a little bit of luck we got the second goal with a headed clearance that falls right to Mario Mandzukic".
