Deceased Republican Brothel Owner Dennis Hof Elected To Nevada Assembly

It was too late to remove his name from the ballot paper, where Hof stood for the Nevada State Assembly - and voters selected him, despite widespread coverage of his death.

During the poll declaration, Hof had 68.3% of the vote to defeat his Democrat rival Lesia Romanov who polled 31.7%.

Patrons of a Nevada brothel operated by Mr. Dennis Hof seemed intent on keeping his memory alive as they voted massively for him in the Tuesday mid-term elections, giving him 53 percent of the total votes cast.

The author of "The Art of the Pimp, ' his autobiography, Hof called himself the 'Trump of Pahrump" after the Nevada city where he owned another two brothels.

Hof owned a handful of brothels in Nevada, the only state that allows them to legally operate.

"He's not going to make it to the promised land with us but we hope he's watching from the great beyond". And as tragic as his death was, Hof campaign manager Chuck Muth previously indicated his boss's passing might actually help his electoral chances.

"There are a lot of Republicans who were uncomfortable voting for Dennis because of the nature of his business, and they now know that he is not the one who will be serving", campaign manager Chuck Muth said in a statement to Reuters.

As for his death, Hof may have literally partied himself to death, as he was found dead in a brothel on October 16, 2018, after celebrating his 72 birthday for four days straight.

He was believed to have died in his sleep.

Hof ran on a platform based on deeply conservative ideals, including expansion of gun rights and a hard-line policy on immigration.

He also fought against outlawing brothels.

In a previous interview, Mr Hof said: "This really is the Trump movement". "People will set aside for a moment their moral beliefs, their religious beliefs, to get somebody that is honest in office". "Trump is the trailblazer, he is the Christopher Columbus of honest politics".

With Hof dead, county officials plan to appoint a Republican to the seat.
