You Can Get Free Shipping on All Amazon Orders During the Holidays

Target also announced it would offer, for the first time, two-day shipping, with no minimum purchase this holiday. There's a feature called AR View, for example - a new augmented reality feature in the Amazon app that allows customers to view products in situ before they purchase. One caveat: While Prime members still get free two-day shipping, the new offer requires customers who partake to settle for the five- to eight-day variety.

This is on top of the unlimited FREE Two-Day Shipping that Prime members receive every day on more than 100 million items. So long as shipping partners are not too backed up, that could mean right up to December 24 given that Amazon can do same-day delivery in select areas. In the wake of Walmart's change, it lowered the threshold twice that same year: to $35, and then to the current non-promotional threshold of $25.

Amazon's shipping costs have grown rapidly in recent quarters. That would be more than 12 percent of the $71.8 billion in sales that analysts now expect the company to report for the quarter.

Lest you think Amazon's just giving perks to everyone but the people who support the site regularly, think again: Prime members can shop same-day shipping on even more items-more three million, to be specific.

About $720 billion in sales are up for grabs for the Black Friday shopping weekend, according to the National Retail Federation.

Mobile shoppers, can also find where their parcels are in seconds in the Amazon App, use camera search to quickly find the items they want by pointing at an item or barcode, and never miss a deal by setting "Watch-a-Deal" alerts. The company usually sets the final date toward the end of the season.
