WASHINGTON DC- JUNE 15 Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch talks with Chief Justice John Roberts on the steps of the Supreme Court following his official investiture at the Supreme Court

He denied that any such thing had ever happened, but after the transcript of the call was released later that same day, multiple news sites reported on the allegation made in the letter.

Grassley last month requested that the FBI investigate accuser Julie Swetnick and her attorney, Michael Avenatti, who also represents porn star Stormy Daniels in her allegations against President Trump.

"She later admitted that she was not the author of it and merely used it as a "ploy" to "get attention" and had never met Justice Kavanaugh", according to the letter. Ms. Swetnick had originally claimed to have been the victim of gang rapes involving Justice Kavanaugh during high school parties, saying she saw him and a friend spike punch to leave girls unable to resist.

"In short, during the Committee's time-sensitive investigation of allegations against Judge Kavanaugh, Ms. Munro-Leighton submitted a fabricated allegation, which diverted Committee resources".

Grassley also requested an investigation into Judy Munro-Leighton, who anonymously claimed Kavanaugh slapped her and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

Before Ford's testimony, Conservative lawyer Ed Whelan suggested in a unusual series of tweets that a classmate of Kavanaugh's who looked like him may have assaulted her. President Donald Trump also subscribed to the theory.

In a letter addressed to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray, Grassley said that Judy Munro-Leighton should be investigated for making materially false statements and for obstruction. Swetnick also made several contradictory statements about her claims during television interviews and refused to speak with committee investigators, the letter said.

Grassley said committee investigators began investigating the allegations and through open sources determined that she is a left-wing activist; is decades older than Kavanaugh; and lives in neither the Washington, D.C. area nor California, but in Kentucky.

"The Committee is grateful to citizens who come forward with relevant information in good faith - even if they are not 100-percent sure about what they know", Grassley continued.

Then in early October, Munro-Leighton said she was responsible for the letter and repeated again, "Kavanaugh raped me". Can you imagine if he didn't become a Justice of the Supreme Court because of her disgusting False Statements.

"Such acts are not only unfair; they are potentially illegal", Grassley stressed. "The letter contained highly graphic sexual-assault accusations against Judge Kavanaugh".

He asked about every other accusation presented by Democrats against Kavanaugh.

"I was angry and I sent it out", the woman told investigators, according to Grassley's letter. I am not Jane Doe. but I did read Jane Doe's letter.
