Pep Guardiola called for his Manchester City side to be even more clinical after thrashing Burnley 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Man City star Bernardo Silva says his side are extra hungry for more glory this season.

City are undefeated in domestic competition and intend to maintain momentum as they return to Champions League action at Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

Portugal midfielder Silva was impressed with how City eased back into top gear after most of the squad had been away with their countries.

Spurs have equalled their best ever start to a Premier League season despite already appearing at times to be running on fumes with a series of injuries to players who went deep into the World Cup. "We feel comfortable so we can keep going and be consistent, especially in the Premier League, and that is so important".

City played on after Burnley mistakenly thought referee Jonathan Moss was about to award a penalty for a foul on Leroy Sane by Jack Cork.

The hosts eventually found the equaliser in the 54th minute as some quick thinking by David Silva caught the Burnley defence napping, allowing Bernado Silva to fire into an empty net. The home fans expected a penalty while Burnley's defenders stopped, expecting Sane to be booked as the ball looked set to dribble out of play.

Silva said: "It was a bit unusual". Help them understand how consistency is important for their careers and to become a better player then, after that, we will see.

David Silva squared for Bernardo Silva to smash home, although the ball appeared to go out of play, with City rapidly doubling their lead as Burnley struggled to regain composure. But Guardiola says he is not concerned about interest from German clubs despite the early success of Sancho.

The Egypt global came into Saturday's match against Huddersfield with just one goal for Liverpool in his past eight matches but a trademark clinical finish gave him his fourth Premier League goal of the season.

Wolves fielded the same side for a record ninth straight Premier League game but were undone by two superb goals in the space of 58 seconds midway through the first half from Etienne Capoue and Roberto Pereyra.

The former City goalkeeper earned a standing ovation and made a series of fine saves on his first return to the club with whom he won two league titles on Saturday.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche, who felt City should have had Vincent Kompany and Leroy Sane sent off for bad challenges, felt the scoreline was harsh. He also had a couple of unconvincing moments in his own box with rushed clearances but just about came out on top in his battle with Burnley's bruising forwards. "The biggest learning curve for our players is you have to stay focused".
