Trump's October Surprise for Dems Is New 'Middle Class Tax Cut'

President Donald Trump poked fun at former US Vice-President Joe Biden Saturday, on a day when both politicians were campaigning in Nevada for candidates on the November 6 ballot. They say they want to speak to some of Mueller's top targets (like Paul Manafort), and question Trump's son, Donald Trump, Jr., about his dealings with Russians. Despite record collections, the federal deficit still grew to the highest level in six years.

Overall, 72 percent of Democrats said they have high interest in the midterm election, with 68 percent of Republicans agreeing.

Polls show Republicans likely to lose control of the House while possibly expanding their majority in the Senate.

Minimally vulnerable: a House Republican represents a district that voted between 55-60% for President Trump in 2016 - except under extraordinary circumstances, the assumption here is that even if the Republican candidate is weak, there are more than enough "Republicans to spare". But during the last midterm elections in 2014, many Democrats stayed home and Republicans won key races across the state, which has a 29 percent Latino population.

"Anybody who votes for a Democrat now is insane", Trump said. They have taken greater comfort in the appointment of two conservative judges in the past 18 months, Neil Gorsuch and the controversial Brett Kavanaugh, to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Trump's announcement also comes just days after Democratic Sen.

Biden was in Nevada over the weekend to rally union members in Las Vegas to support U.S. Senate Jacky Rosen and other Democrats.

The two previously had an icy relationship, which Trump acknowledged in September when he campaigned for Heller in Las Vegas. Many forecasters believe Democrats are likely to take the House.

At Saturday's rally, the President lampooned political correctness, calling it "a insane phenomenon that's going on" and expressed regret at how closely his language is watched.

Biden also touted the candidacy of other Democrats, including Steve Sisolak, the powerful chairman of the county commission overseeing the Las Vegas Strip who is running for governor, and Susie Lee and Steven Horsford, who are seeking seats to Nevada's 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts, both of which are considered swing seats.

To round out the circle, they'd also like to get copies of Trump's tax returns, though they haven't yet specified how they'd use them.

Last night Trump rallied in Arizona following the statement from Saudi Arabia that Jamal Khashoggi was killed and their claim that there was a fight in the consulate.

Republicans hold a 51-49 advantage in the Senate now.

This summer Democrats let themselves dream that their charismatic young senate candidate in Texas, Beto O'Rourke, might be able to knock Republican Ted Cruz off his senate seat in that large, deeply conservative state.

President Clinton had a 48 percent approval rating and the Democrats lost 52 seats in the House.
