Punches Thrown During Lakers-Rockets Brawl

While playing the Houston Rockets on Saturday night at the Staples Center, Lakers forward Brandon Ingram fouled James Harden late in the fourth quarter as the Rockets guard went in for a layup.

Lakers duo Ingram and Rondo have been banned for four and three games respectively, while the Rockets' Paul has a two-game ban - all without pay.

But that is exactly what happened on Sunday [AEST] when a brawl erupted between the Lakers and Houston Rockets during the fourth quarter of their National Basketball Association match at the Staples Centre. Video unveiled on Sunday shows Kiedis berating Paul before turning his attention - and his middle finger - to a Houston staffer, all as bandmate and Lakers super-fan Flea sits quietly in his courtside seat.

Barring an appeal, Ingram and Rondo will start their suspensions tonight when the Lakers host the Spurs.

Ingram saw what was happening and flew in from across the court and started punching, and then there was a real brawl.

"I don't know, I might rest him (on a) back-to-back", D'Antoni said.

A wild multiplayer fight that included the normally mild-mannered Chris Paul and Brandon Ingram stole part of the spotlight shining on LeBron's official landing on the West Coast.

The extraordinary scenes overshadowed LeBron James's home debut with the Lakers, which ended in a 124-115 Rockets victory.

"We try to judge each one of these [incidents] on the merits: who does what, who instigates, how risky the situation becomes and is", VanDeWeghe said. "It's a lot monetarily for the player, [and] it hurts the team".

They have a history of raising the ire of the other, going back to at least 2009 during a Boston-New Orleans game.

Paul claimed Rondo caused their fight by spitting on him. "We'll be fine. I just don't think it's equitable".
