Hazard: We are enjoying playing well and scoring goals

As Chelsea took on Southampton at St. Mary's all minds were thinking ahead of the blockbuster clash between Liverpool and Manchester City.

While Alvaro Morata's return to form has been a welcome boost ahead of the second worldwide break, Eden Hazard has been the man to watch as the Belgian has been in terrific nick ever since the season began.

Belgium playmaker Eden Hazard kept up his red-hot form with one goal and an assist to inspire Chelsea to a convincing 3-0 victory against Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Maurizio Sarri has called for improvement from Chelsea's defence despite keeping a clean sheet in their comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton. Olivier Giroud was fouled inside the area, but only a corner kick was awarded.

They were made to rue that miss as Chelsea went ahead two minutes later as Barkley dispossessed Hojbjerg before playing in Hazard, who curled the ball beyond Alex McCarthy.

For Chelsea, Hazard has netted seven in the league, with Pedro scoring three and Morata netting two. I've been very happy for the last four years and a half, we've had great success, won many things.

Life after Antonio Conte suits Chelsea's star players.

Marek Hamsik did this job for his Napoli side and now Barkley, who watched tapes of the Serie A club over the summer, is hoping to be that man for Chelsea. 18 against Vidi in the Europa League on Thursday and a further 12 today, all without profit suggests there is work to be done on the training ground. The Netherlands global escaped punishment for his challenge on Giroud in the area but then saw Hazard capitalise on some lazy defending as he stepped out of defence and left Chelsea's main man all alone.

- Barkley became the first Englishman to score and assist in a Premier League game for Chelsea since Frank Lampard in December 2013.

Chelsea now face a game against Manchester United when the Premier League resumes after the worldwide break. The decision not to use VAR in the Premier League continues to baffle.
