Jose Mourinho is embarrassing Man Utd - Scholes

Already nine points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City and Liverpool after three defeats in seven league games, Mourinho was hoping for a reaction from Saturday's terrible display in losing 3-1 to West Ham United.

A point does at least consolidate United's position three points ahead of Valencia in second place, with Swiss champions Young Boys looking like the whipping boys of the group after a second 3-0 defeat in two games, this time against Juventus earlier on Tuesday.

"The performance was that bad".

"He's coming out in press conferences and constantly having a go at players".

Marcus Rashford went agonisingly close to getting a winning goal in the closing stages when his free-kick rattled the top of the crossbar.

Another game, another headache for Jose who is experiencing another low point in his managerial career with his Manchester United side having tasted no victory in their last three matches.

Speaking afterwards, Mourinho seemed to warn United fans not to expect much success from 2018-19 and claimed he could not be honest in his assessment for fear of further criticism of his methods.

And he admits he did not expect Jose Mourinho to still be in charge after Saturday's result. "I think his mouth is out of control and he's embarrassing the club".

His next longest reign came with three complete seasons, at Real Madrid, whom he left after failing to deliver the then-required La Decima - a 10th Champions League trophy.

United were beaten 3-1 at the London Stadium and Scholes believes the performance was so poor it could have cost Mourinho his job.
