Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings continue with Christine Blasey Ford testimony

It was reported late Wednesday night that the Senate has interviewed a man who believes that he assaulted Ford at the party in 1982, and that she was mistaken in identifying Kavanaugh as her attacker.

Calling the empowerment of women alleging abuse "very dangerous" for the country, President Donald Trump weighed in Wednesday on the mounting accusations against his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

Feinstein took over questioning immediately after Kavanaugh concluded his statement, first asking Kavanaugh whether he believes the FBI should investigate Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's claims.

"I was underneath one of them, while the two laughed".

In marathon testimony about her accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, the California professor told senators that the details of her alleged assault are seared into her brain.

She said that over the years, she convinced herself that because she was not raped, she should just pretend that it did not happen.

"These are all false to me", Trump said of the allegations.

The writer states that her daughter was out at a bar in Washington with three other people, including Kavanaugh and her friend. They will not be heard today because Senate Republicans do not want them to be heard.

Trump has stood behind his Supreme Court nominee amid the allegations, saying he is looking forward to a complete nomination process. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. "At that point I felt like enough was enough", Ford said.

He has denied all allegations.

The Republican-controlled committee, led by 11 men, on Tuesday said it had hired Arizona sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell to question Dr Ford.

Swetnick says she wants the American public to have the facts and "judge for themselves".

Republicans have slammed Ford's allegation as part of a smear campaign and a scheme cooked up by Democrats to undermine Kavanaugh's nomination.

"I am with judge Kavanaugh and I look forward to a vote", Trump told reporters at the UN's NY headquarters where he is attending the organization's annual General Assembly meetings.
