As the West rallies behind Christine Blasey Ford, who raised sexual assault allegations against US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, India lacked that kind of support to actress Tanushree Dutta's similar claims against Nana Patekar.

Amitabh Bachchan: My name is not Tanushree and my name is not Nana Patekar.

Aamir said it would not be right for him to comment, but "whenever something like this does happen it is really a sad thing".

However, Patekar spoke to Mirror Now and denied all allegations Tanushree has made.

However, as reported by Hindustan Times, the actor laughed when questioned about the incident and asked, "What does she mean by sexual harassment?".

Furthermore Shetty revealed: "There was this chaos on the set and we didn't know what was happening".

She has hit out at Nana and named choreographer Ganesh Acharya, director Rakesh Sarang and producer Sami Siddiqui as accomplices in the harassment she faced. "There were 50-100 people on the set with me", Patekar said when asked about the allegations. I can see through everything he is trying to do.

Lucky for her, Irrfan Khan who was starring in the movie alongside her, Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Emraan Hashmi and others, stood up to the director. Now, the actor's lawyer has issued a statement stating that they are in a process of sending the legal notice to her. He also reminded the journalist that this event doesn't demand a question like this, while also throwing a dig at her saying that it is a "sporting event so be sporting".

Dutta made the allegations in an interview to DNA. "Some humanity will rise and they will say or do something about it". But, Salman Khan doesn't know any of this. There was a shoot going on of a dance sequence, so there was no question of Nana or that lady being alone.

Salman said, "I am not aware of this". I have been here and I am sure that the legal team will handle that. She also added that it is up to us all to stand together and to not accuse the victims for they will fear to come forward.

Actor Richa Chadha, who has previously alluded to the rampant casting couch problem in Bollywood, wrote on Twitter, "It hurts to be #TanushreeDutta rn". No woman wants publicity that opens the floodgates of trolling and insensitivity. What happened to her on set was intimidation.

Priyanka replied to Farhan's tweet, "Agreed.the world needs to #BelieveSurviviors". "Her only fault was she did not back down - (that) takes a special courage to be Tanushree Dutta".

Even Swara Bhasker supported her by tweeting with the hashtag #IBeliveYouTanushreeDutta.
