Meghan Markle stuns Britain by shutting her own auto door

But her simple gesture sparked a huge debate on social media about whether she broke royal protocol by closing her own auto door.

When the Duchess of Sussex arrived at the event, the auto door was opened, she got out of the vehicle, and shook hands with the hosts before swiftly shutting the auto door.

But some royal watchers reckon that Meghan is purposefully choosing black ensembles in a bid to stay out of the limelight.

The Duchess of Sussex was out to attend the opening of a Pacific art exhibition entitled Oceania at the Royal Academy of Art in London's Piccadilly.

She stepped out, and then after shaking hands with her host, casually closed the door behind her.

You'll likely remember the newly minted Duchess of Sussex's laid-back look from the occasion-ripped Mother skinny jeans, brown Sarah Flint flats, and a white button-down.

"Current state: Poking my own eyes out after reading Meghan "broke protocol" by shutting her auto door".

One Twitter user wrote: "Because I was so inspired by Meghan Markle, as I left the house this morning I shut my own front door".

"Everyone is freaking out because Meghan Markle closed her own door..."

Whether her security is quicker to shut the door for her after this remains to be seen.

Etiquette and protocol coach William Hanson told BBC News that Meghan didn't breach the royal protocol.

Meghan Markle wore a sleek Givenchy dress at the Royal Academy of Art in London on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

As you might imagine, there are a lot of cynics on Twitter enjoying the "woman closes own vehicle door" spectacle and weighing in with their own amusing takes.

Her gesture attracted widespread comment and debate on social media where she was...
