SpringHill Entertainment releases team for'Space Jam 2

The first official photo from Space Jam 2 has been released, and it reveals some new information about the long-awaited film.

The visual was meant to confirm James and Bugs Bunny as stars while Ryan Coogler produces with director Terence Nance. So far, no word has been give by SpringHill Entertainment about a release date, but fans were told when the sequel will move into production.

James' production company SpringHill Entertainment tweeted Wednesday that Coogler will produce the sequel to the 1996 movie that featured Michael Jordan alongside Warner Bros.' animated characters.

"The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie".

According to the Reporter, the new film will be directed by Terence Nance and production is slated for 2019 during the National Basketball Association offseason.

This will mark James' first on-screen role since 2015's Trainwreck, which saw the basketball star hold his own surprisingly well with scene partners like Amy Schumer and Bill Hader. "It's so much bigger". "I've been really wanting to push that genre, but to do that you need the right amount of time", Lin said back in 2017. Jordan starred in the original "Space Jam" in 1996, alongside a number of other National Basketball Association stars of the era; the MonStars team featured Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and Shawn Bradley. Rumors of a sequel starring James have run rampant for several years, with a number of different directors and writers having been attached to the project. Coogler, who scored big earlier in 2018 when he directed Black Panther, is a huge get for the project. "And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people".
