At least four hurt after 'active shooter' opens fire in Middleton

The incident began at about 10:25 a.m. CT on Wednesday when officers were called to reports of an active shooter at 1850 Deming Way, which is home to WTS Paradigm, Esker Software, and other companies.

The witness, who asked not to be named, heard about a dozen gunshots from what he says sounded like a handgun, as he was holed up in a room and texting his wife before police arrived.

Middleton Police Chief Chuck Foulke says there are no other suspects in the attack that occurred Wednesday morning at software company WTS Paradigm.

According to the State Journal, one woman was seen screaming as she was removed from the building. The motive for the shooting was not immediately known.

Details of what happened the artificial intelligence company - and whether anyone was injured or killed - have yet to emerge, but a huge number of emergency services were sent to the scene.

Lahmers said she ran out of the building and hid behind a auto. She says it shouldn't be unusual that a black woman is knocking on doors in 2018.

Still, Stubbs says she felt humiliated and degraded.

It's about six miles outside of Madison. She said: "We're all software people".

"We knew at that point that something was going down".

At least 40 people were gathered in the hotel's parking lot, waiting to be interviewed by police. Multiple businesses are listed at the location.

Esker's website explains how the company develops artificial intelligence which is says combines 'human and machine learning for the ultimate user experience'.
