Trump taunts USA media over Obama error

Obama laments ‘broken’ politics in stumping for Ohio Democrats

"What's at stake goes beyond partisan politics", he said.

Obama didn't mention Trump by name in the 43-minute speech, before an estimated crowd of 4,250. "This is not normal what we're seeing".

Former President Barack Obama is visiting closely divided OH to campaign for gubernatorial candidate Richard Cordray and other Democrats.

Records reviewed by The Associated Press show GMMB has made OH ad buys for the Democrat's campaign against Republican Attorney General Mike DeWine. Obama said in May 2008. "Thank you, President Obama", Cordray wrote on Twitter.

Key to statewide victory in 2018 will be boosting turnout in northeast OH and the Cleveland area, Democratic strongholds with a large African-American population that helped carry Obama to victory in the state.

Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd of several thousand in Cleveland, Obama said the consequences of sitting on the sidelines during November's midterm elections "are far more dangerous" than in the past.

"Some of those fights are not over, not by a long shot", Cordray said of the continued Republican efforts to chip away at the ACA, Obama's signature policy achievement, "It's just wrong, and we're not going to let it happen". Sherrod Brown, who faces a challenge from Republican Jim Renacci (reh-NAY'-see), a congressman from Wadsworth. He canceled campaign events scheduled this week in Missouri and MS due to Hurricane Florence. He said many OH farmers "have money in their pockets" because of Cordray's work at the consumer bureau. Trump replaced him with Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, and Republicans are trying to make Cordray's tenure an issue in the OH race. Donald Trump Jr.is headlining a state Republican Party dinner that evening.

Mulvaney has been praised by Republicans for exercising restraint at an agency they saw as unaccountable, while liberals led by Senator Elizabeth Warren of MA, who helped create the bureau, have accused him of dismantling it and putting consumers at risk.

"The Cordray campaign understands that what happened in 2016 was partially a result of the fact that there wasn't as much enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton in the northeastern part of the state, in African-American communities as there was of course for President Obama", Cohen added.

Cordray's campaign said there's nothing improper about the firm's work for the government or the campaign. "He didn't tweet about it, he just did it".
