Pochettino not anxious by Kane’s slow start

Pochettino confirmed the 31-year-old Frenchman, who was banned for driving for 20 months and fined £50,000 ($65,545), would remain as the club's captain.

Spurs face Liverpool tomorrow without injured midfielder Dele Alli and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

"I think I respect every single opinion but for me it's a collective problem", Pochettino said.

"Today, if you make a lot of mistakes, then of course in front is Liverpool, one of the best teams in Europe".

"He's punishing himself, but of course we're not God, that we can judge people".

"He's the first [to accept it was a mistake], he told me, "Gaffer, it's a massive lesson for me".

Spurs boss Pochettino, though, knows Kane better than anyone and said: 'He needs to provide the team with his best. He has this capacity but he needs to take my words in a very positive way - he needs a lot of work", "I don't want to praise him too much because if so his head [grows big]!

Equally predictable was Mauricio Pochettino's insistence that he has no concerns about a player in whom expectations are so elevated.

"It was a good feeling for me to be back in the starting XI but all of that gets ruined when the result doesn't go our way and we don't win".

Forward Heung-min Son is available, but unlikely to play a big part after participating in the Asian Games, immediately followed by this worldwide break.

Pochettino's assessment is a bit embarrassing for Tottenham's players, and even fans to hear. I do not read and do not listen to what is going on around. It's always collective and we need to help him, to give the ball in a better position for him to be more clear.

"When you lose, yes of course you need to talk about different things, but I'm not anxious".

"We know that it's not a situation that worries us".

Magistrate Amanda Barron said Lloris very lucky not to have caused "damage to other vehicles or pedestrians", and that his actions put his and his passenger's lives at risk.
