Ariana Grande posts a touching tribute to her late ex, Mac Miller, on Instagram. We talked about this, so many times. And I know you will be looking down on me from heaven, proud AF for every day I live my life clean and sober [sic].

'You were my dearest friend. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved.

Miller, real name Malcolm McCormick, was 26 when he died from a suspected overdose.

Grande took to her Instagram on Friday to express her sorrow over the loss of Miller, who died at his home in California's San Fernando Valley on September 7.

Grande and Miller had previously dated for nearly two years - shortly after the pair split, he was arrested for driving under the influence.

Grande had previously posted a captionless black-and-white photo of Miller, presumably taken by her, two days after his death.

"I hope you're okay now". While conflicting schedules were blamed, reports emerged that Grande was concerned over Miller's substance abuse; he was arrested for DUI the following month.

"She was a fucking G to him". I saw that, I was around it, I took phone calls from her - 'How do I help?' 'What do I do?' The singer goes on to tell him that the recording is for her because it makes her happy. The video appears to have be filmed during an intimate dinner Ari and Mac enjoyed while they were still together.
