He's going to be around the show for ten episodes, which is a pretty meaty gig that will bring a lot more attention to his ability as an actor.

Tyler Perry even tweeted that he was offering Owens a role on one of his OWN shows. ET sat down with Owens this week, where the actor expressed his gratitude and thanked Perry for the offer.

"I don't want to be presumptuous and say because of my situation, we've started a change, but I think it is certainly less shameful to admit that we are all working people who do what we need to do", he the Los Angeles-based outlet.

Asked if he believed the Daily Mail and Fox News published the photos in poor taste, Owens the report of him working the register at the health food store in Clifton, New Jersey, "mean-spirited".

"I don't know why I snuck a picture", said Lawrence.

After the social media uproar of negativity, Tyler Perry took to Twitter to offer Owens a job. "I didn't feel any impulse to lash out, but I was devastated. I just kind of did it on impulse and it was a bad impulse". "Like, really? Are you actually saying, 'Come work with me"? She stated, "I personally want to donate on behalf of Queen Radio $25,000 to Geoffrey Owens". He got millions of people all over the world on his side and then he got a job.

When the photo of Owens working at Trader Joe's first began circulating, the internet's initial reaction was to shame the man, but eventually, waves of sympathy and support for a man doing what he can to make ends meet while pursuing his career came flooding in, particularly from those within the acting community. And we'll see what happens with that.

Owens said he worked at the Trader Joe's for 15 months out of necessity and the store gave him the flexibility to pursue acting gigs.
