Assuming 9to5Mac's report was accurate, and assuming Apple doesn't come up with a quick name change, we could suffer people on social media and elsewhere making the same jokes about the iPhone's name for the next year and beyond.

Last week, 9to5Mac revealed the "first look" of both the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED iPhones, rumoured to be called the iPhone XS.

What is the battery size of the iPhone XS?

We've known for months that a three-pronged iPhone launch was set to kick into gear this year and as we trundle closer to the September 12th announcement we've seen more and more information pop up online. Merrill's Wamsi Mohan says that he expects the 6.5-inch unit (iPhone Xs Max is the rumored name) to be sold for $1,049. Along with the three new iPhones, the company will be unveiling the Apple Watch Series 4 and a new iPad Pro.

These photos, published by Slashleaks, reveal the new iPhone in a deep red and dark blue.

Remember the backlash created by Apple previous year when it priced the tenth anniversary iPhone X at $999 (64GB) and $1,149 (256GB)?

Pricing The two iPhone models that reportedly use an OLED display will be priced at the high end, with the less expensive LCD display model priced more affordably. It will be replaced on all three models with the face-scanning FaceID that Apple introduced with the iPhone X past year. Apple is also rumoured to finally increase the RAM on the devices with the new processor. Some of the most anticipated specifications are whether or not the next-generation iPhone will feature wireless charging and what the price tag for these future iPhones will be.

While the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhones will get dual cameras with two 12-megapixel lenses, the LCD variant will get a single lens setup with a 12-megapixel sensor.
