However, if the response to OnePlus on T-Mobile is unignorable, CDMA carriers will have to at least consider working with the phone startup to get their devices certified for their networks just to remain competitive. The story focuses on the T-Mobile's exclusive partnership with the Chines smartphone maker to launch the OnePlus 6T in the US.

CNET reported this morning that the OnePlus 6T will launch with T-Mobile in October, its first United States carrier partner.

The upcoming device now has a provisional $550 price tag attached to it, suggesting OnePlus is once again planning to raise the prices of its new handsets, with the OnePlus 6 already doing the same earlier this year when it was unveiled with an introductory price of $529.

It also an added point for success that T-Mobile, as well as AT&T, are both compatible with the unlocked versions of OnePlus phones.

OnePlus, like other China-based OEMs, have struggled to become household names in the USA - but a launch in conjunction with a Big 4 carrier could help OnePlus reach mainstream awareness.

OnePlus was reportedly negotiating with at least one of the USA carriers to partner for its upcoming flagship. Many people buy their phones through their carrier, and having the OnePlus 6T at T-Mobile means that customers could see and try a OnePlus 6T before buying it and get the device with monthly payments through T-Mo.

If we take that taking point at face value, it's unclear how the company will be able to maintain its budget proposition. Now, we are not sure how accurate this is, but rumors have pointed to a similar time-frame for the launch of the new OnePlus smartphone. Basically, the OnePlus 6T will cost much more than its predecessor.

Another gap between the premium phones by Samsung, Apple and OnePlus is the absence of ingress protection certificate.

The OnePlus 6T is not official, but it seems like a foregone conclusion. If you didn't already know, OnePlus is owned by a company called BBK. For the unaware, Oppo is the parent company of OnePlus. It will come with a 600 megahertz band of spectrum to provide better and faster network coverage. This could possibly stop the launch, but since OnePlus is a small firm it might fly under the radar.
