"The president's character assassination of a former senior White House official begs the question: if she's so horrific, what was she doing in the White House in the first place?"

The audio follows other recordings released on Sunday, which she claimed she made when the White House chief of staff, John Kelly, called her into the Situation Room to fire her. But, Trump answers that too, with his second tweet: "When Gen. Kelly came on board [as chief of staff] he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems". And she also promised she has more audio recordings and is considering releasing them. Critics denounced the recordings as a serious breach of ethics and security. The voice on the recording released Monday appears to be Trump's. She did not play that recording on the show.

In February, Politico reported that Manigault Newman was sacked for using a White House auto service as a pick-up and drop-off service.

In the latest release, President Donald Trump can be heard expressing surprise that she had been been fired from his administration previous year. "This is his pattern with African-Americans, and he doesn't know how to control himself".

In fact, almost every contention Trump made about Manigault Newman is contradicted by something he previously said.

Meanwhile, Kellyanne Conway is also speaking out against Omarosa after she claimed she was offered hush money when she left her position.

"Yes, I was complicit." said Manigault Newman, who was the highest-ranking black employee in the White House.

Few have been a member of Donald Trump's inner orbit longer than Omarosa Manigault Newman.

"Based on particular policy considerations with her being a federal employee there may be requirements that she shouldn't have done so, however, if she believed that this was the only way to obtain evidence that might be relevant in a later proceeding then it certainly could be something that she could bring up", Regent Law Professor Natt Gantt said. "I used to reach out to her often and we have invited the president to our national conventions three times but nothing has happened on that front".

"None of us have been able to identify that it would be illegal if unclassified", said Mark Zaid, a Washington attorney, who has focused on national security law.

The recordings came out as Omarosa promotes her new book "Unhinged, ' where she turns on her former boss and 'Apprentice" host.

As for the potential legal repercussions of secretly taping within one of the most secure White House conference rooms-an action she said she felt she needed to take to protect her own credibility-Manigault-Newman says she's not anxious. She said Kelly was running the administration. It was recorded in the situation room at the White House, a highly secure complex of conference rooms where personal electronics are banned. "Not only is it not typical, something like this is unprecedented".

Price said cellphones and recording devices are not allowed in the room, though aides are not screened before entering.

Newman said she would love for the White House to release her personnel files.

Manigault Newman wrote in the book that she had not personally heard the recording.

He went on to say he heard "really bad things" about her time there: "Nasty to people & would constantly miss meetings & work".

"No ... I, I, nobody even told me about it", the president responds. "Because I've talked to him subsequently, and he said he delegated".

"Donald Trump made her".
