That vow is proving to be good as gold, as Schwartz has just being cast as the bluest '90s cartoon character of them all: Sonic the Hedgehog.

In case you didn't know, a live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie (which will mix CGI with real life footage) is in the works.

Schwartz joins the cast which includes James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey, who takes on the role of the popular Sonic villain Dr. Robotnik.

Variety reports Ben Schwartz is set to voice Sonic the Hedgehog himself in the upcoming feature film adaptation from Paramount Pictures. Yes, Jean Ralphio is getting a franchise, y'all. It sounds like he has his preparation regimen down pat.

Schwartz has some experience with voice acting, lending his distinct voice to the Ducktales reboot as Dewey Duck (the blue one) and the upcoming Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as Leonardo (the blue one). It's a surprising casting for the actor, but his history of zany roles may actually make him a good fit.

Considering the unique look of Robotnik, as you can see above, people have been curious how they're going to pull off this character in the movie.

Sonic The Hedgehog is sprinting for release on November 15, 2019. Jeff Fowler will direct with Neal H. Moritz producing and Tim Miller and Toby Ascher executive producing.
