Melania Trump, Michael Jordan praise LeBron James after Donald Trump insults him

"He's doing an awesome job for his community", Jordan, now owner of the National Basketball Association's Charlotte Hornets, told NBC News through a spokesperson.

James was interviewed by Lemon Monday, after James' foundation and the Akron (Ohio) Public Schools launched a new elementary school for at-risk children.

Earlier this week, the new Lakers player and the most famous active National Basketball Association star had said in an interview with CNN's Don Lemon that the USA leader was using "sports to kinda divide us".

First Lady Melania Trump has nothing but nice things to say about LeBron James despite her husband President Donald Trump' recent insult of him. Of course, the president also got a final dig in at James, saying "I like Mike", a reference to all-time great Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan.

Lemon responded to Trump's tweet this morning with a nod to First Lady Melania Trump's campaign against bullying.

The first lady, however, is apparently unaffected by the animus James has toward her husband, nor does she appear to be letting the President's statement about James affect her own feelings on the matter.

In February, James explained why he was critical of the president: “While we cannot change what comes out of that mans mouth, we can continue to alert the people that watch us, that listen to us, that this is not the way.”.

Not only has Michael Jordan since backed LeBron, but even Melania is coming to Bron's aide.

Many tweeters suggested that Trump may have held out from criticising James until he moved away from OH, which is a crucial swing state for the President.

Trumps tweet on Friday night drew accusations of racism because Lemon and James are black men and had been discussing Trumps previous attacks on black athletes in the interview. I mean, just this week he's taken a swipe at the QUEEN, claiming she was late and kept him waiting when he met her in England recently. However, James did touch on politics, expressing disappointment with Trump's relationship to sports teams. Lemon tweeted a response that read, "Who's the real dummy?" Laker fans who spoke with Eyewitness News also felt the same way, often mentioning the school James opened and how he's impacted those kids' lives. "If someone tried to recruit a LeBron to run for president, they said, "Listen, they've got no one, if you don't run, Trump's going to win, ' would you run?"
