Leaked DJI Mavic 2 advert confirms Pro and Zoom models

Leaked DJI Mavic 2

Leaked DJI Mavic 2

A few United Kingdom residents noticed that the Argos catalog included a pretty big ad for the Mavic 2 drone which leaves nothing to the imagination and clarifies even the past leaks. This is new for DJI, and also features on the latest drone from Parrot, the ANAFI.

The description in the catalog states that the DJI Mavic 2 will be a small and powerful 1080p drone that can fly up to 20m/s (~45mph compared to 40mph in the original Mavic Pro) for up to 31 minutes (compared to 27 min in the original) and transmit video from 8km (~5mi) away.

Both models are said to be capable of 31 minutes of flight time and a top speed of nearly 45mph, along with the ability to transmit live 1080p video to distances up to 5 miles.

Details of an unannounced new drone from market leader DJI have been revealed early in the Argos catalogue. That's what the print industry risks every day, and an error like printing an ad way out of schedule can lead to a Mavic mishap... just ask drone- and gimbal-maker DJI.

We now know there will be at least three models in the new generation of drones, the Mavic 2 Pro, the Mavic 2 Zoom and the Mavic 2 Enterprise. There's also a dolly zoom on the, er, Zoom version.

But postponing a launch is one thing for sites like Pocket-lint, but it's quite another if you'd already printed a catalogue with the details inside.

What has DJI had to say about the leak?

A separate leak from a German magazine in July showed a Mavic 2 Enterprise, allowing for larger payloads. It doesn't look so different from the new drones revealed by Argos, but it seems to have been created to handle heavier payloads and swap out different attachments for commercial flights. While the company has postponed the July 18 "See the Bigger Picture" event, there has been no official word on the launch since then.

We'll have to wait and see, but if all of this comes to fruition there are some big product launches on the way from DJI.
