Hundreds of volunteer rescuers have been evacuated from southwest Syria for resettlement in Britain, Canada and Germany.

Jordan said it would transfer the Syrians to Britain, Canada and Germany.

Some 422 volunteers and family members were taken to Jordan via the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights overnight.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Syria accused Israel of striking a missile production factory in the northwest.

Canada previously resettled 25,000 Syrian refugees between September 2015 and February 2016.

Syrian civilians began flocking to the Israeli and Jordanian borders as the fighting intensified, leading to the displacement of more than 320,000 people since June 19, the United Nations says.

Hundreds of thousands of Syrians have fled their homes since Russian-backed government troops launched a major offensive to capture rebel-held territory in the country's south.

Foreign ministry spokesman Mohammed al-Kayed said the kingdom had accepted the members of the Syrian rescue organisation for "purely humanitarian reasons" as their lives had been at risk. The IDF said no damage or injuries were reported.

The United States and Russian Federation hailed the evacuation by the Israeli military of a Syrian volunteer civil organization from a volatile border area near the Golan Heights, although the two powers saw the operation in a sharply differing manner.

Netanyahu also revealed on Sunday that Trudeau was one of the world leaders who personally asked for Israel to evacuate roughly 800 of the White Helmets over fears they would be targeted by regime forces.

Israel's launched its "David's Sling" air defence system on Monday as a precaution against rockets fired within neighbouring Syria, setting off sirens in northern Israeli communities, the military said.

Israel seized 1,200 square kilometres (460 square miles) of the Golan from Syriain 1967, in a move never recognised internationally.

"When they reached the border with Israel, their eyes were filled with tears of happiness, knowing that they got their lives back", said the IDF's Lt. Col. E., Commander of Operation Good Neighbor.

Government officials in Damascus said in this connection the White Helmets had links to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist grouping and were acting in its interests.

German weekly magazine Bild, the first to break the news of the evacuation, quoted German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas as saying: "Humanity dictates that many of these fearless first-aiders should now find protection and refuge, some of them in Germany".

Last year, a Netflix production called The White Helmets won an Academy Award for the best short documentary. Since its establishment, the group has received at least $55 million from the British Foreign Office, $23 million or more from the US Office of Transition Initiatives and untold millions from Qatar.
