Mr Trump has drawn strong criticism from both Republicans and Democrats over his initial reluctance to blame Russian Federation for alleged meddling in the 2016 United States elections that he won.

Trump then said he realized, after seeing the backlash to his news conference, that one statement needed clarifying.

"The sentence should have been, 'I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Russia.' Sort of a double negative", he said.

For a full week now, Donald Trump has faced protests as crowds gather outside the White House to respond to his behavior when he met with Russia's Vladimir Putin.

Worse, the memo alleges, the FISA court was not told that Steele's dossier was funded through a law firm by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign. Trump has denied any collusion and has repeatedly called the Mueller probe a "hoax" and a "witch hunt". "I think the Russians elected a former KGB agent and he spends all of his time and their resources squandering it on penny ante spy tactics".

While the documents confirm that the Federal Bureau of Investigation relied, in part, on information from Steele to obtain the initial warrant, they also show how the Federal Bureau of Investigation informed the court of his likely motivation.

It shouldn't be surprising that just days after Trump declared that he had confidence in US intelligence agencies, he would attack them.

According to that poll, 32 percent of Americans approved of how Trump handled the summit, while 55 percent disapproved. 46 percent of the voters opposed the idea, the poll found. But Republicans gave Trump pretty high marks and appear to have increasing confidence in the president's ability to lead on the global stage. That number was 53 percent in November. Many Republicans have responded with statements of fierce support of the USA intelligence community, but few have criticized Trump directly. While conservatives were once known for their relatively high confidence in law enforcement, Trump has transformed the perspectives of many people in the party.

Trump was widely condemned following his press conference alongside Putin in Helsinki, prompting the president and his officials to issue several corrections throughout the week. And that is of great concern to those keeping their eyes on Putin's planned White House visit in the fall.

"You know, it's kind of exhausting to be part of protesting and marching and demonstrating and resisting, but we can not stop", she added. "They believe in engagement with Russian Federation, they believe in dialogue with Russian Federation, and they're not anxious about an invitation to President Putin this fall".
