Hader must take sensitivity training after tweets

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader is now under fire for a string of racist, misogynistic and homophobic tweets.

Hader's tweets, which surfaced during his All-Star Game appearance, featured language that was racist, homophobic and sexist. The tweets went from being quite hilarious to downright disturbing, homophobic, and racist.

"During last night's game we became aware of Mr. Hader's unacceptable social media comments in years past and have since been in communication with the Brewers regarding our shared concerns", the Major League Baseball said in a statement Wednesday.

He continued, "As a child, I was immature and obviously said some things that were inexcusable..."

Sure, you could say that the lesson here is to delete all your very bad tweets when you're a public figure, but how about just not being a hateful person?

Several of Hader's teammates spoke out in support of him on Tuesday after the game, including outfielder Lorenzo Cain, who is African-American.

Some of Hader's family removed his replica jersey while at the All-Star Game, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

"Just came in, and my phone was blowing up", he said. Now as Hader faces scrutiny, it will be interesting to see how the league proceeds in response to his comments. "Live and learn. It won't happen again".

"There's no excuse for what was said", he added. "I know Hader, he's a great guy", Cain told reporters after briefly speaking with Hader about the situation. Like I said, we'll move on from it. They even occurred before Major League Baseball had a formal social media policy. During the game, someone searched through the Twitter history of Villanova guard Donte DiVincenzo and published adolescent tweets containing racial slurs. "I was young, immature and stupid, and there's no excuses for what was said or what happened".

'We've all said insane stuff growing up, even when we're 17, 18 years old, ' Cain said.

"We move on from it.it is what it is". 'I really don't know exactly what's all out there'. I'm fine. Everybody will be okay.

"At the end of the day, you have to give people a second chance". He said it. It got out there. For me, I'm moving on from it.
