Raymond Felton Reportedly Agrees to Re-Sign with Thunder on 1-Year Contract

Not only was it not under a one-plus-one deal, but was a four-year, $137 million contract as well, as per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Felton's new contract is for $2.4 million and puts the Thunder's combined payroll and luxury tax over $300 million. As such, the Thunder is likely set at the point guard position for the 2018-19 season. As of now, Bobby Marks of ESPN said the Thunder have $150 million in luxury tax.

Including the $150 million National Basketball Association salary ceiling, the OKC will walk out for the start of the season with a combined value of $300m in an unmitigated disaster.

Russell Westbrook was a major factor in Paul George's decision to stay.

One way to bring the team's luxury tax bill is to waive Anthony, who made a decision to stay with the Thunder after exercising the $27.9 million option on his contract.

As for now, adding Felton back to the fold makes a lot of sense - especially if he can carry last season's performance over into the 2018-19 season. In 2012 the franchise was reluctant to offer a big contract to future MVP James Harden because of tax bills, leaving him joining the Rockets.

For his career, he has averaged 11.4 points and 5.4 assists.

Despite his meager output, Anthony insists that he will not play off the bench next season for the Thunder, who acquired him via trade from the New York Knicks last season in exchange for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a 2018 draft pick. Oklahoma City fell to the Jazz in six games in the first round. "So that's out of the question", said Anthony, who has started all 1,054 games in his National Basketball Association career. Melo is coming off his career-worst season, averaging 16.4 points per game on 40 percent shooting from the field, and at 34 years old, he isn't getting any better.

Carmelo Anthony is now a part of the most-expensive team in National Basketball Association history.

Noel, for his part, could serve as a backup to Adams.
