Well, the Lakers might have increased their attempt at a Leonard trade. So if the C's actually pulled off a Leonard trade, it's likely they will have convinced him to change his mind about that.

Outside of that, the Celtics have plenty of pieces to offer up in a deal for Leonard, including Irving, who up to this point has not received much attention as a potential trade piece.

The vast amount of talk around young superstar Kawhi Leonard has been an enormous experience with heaps of teams discussing trade deals to try and land the 26-year-old forward. Considering what both teams have reportedly offered, Leonard might not be going anywhere soon.

There's been speculation since Leonard asked for a trade that Kyle Kuzma would have to be involved in any deal with the Spurs.

Leonard - a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and two-time First-Team All-NBA selection - possesses the shooting prowess to play on or off the ball, and would seem to be an ideal fit with James. The Celtics are reportedly unwilling to part with Jaylen Brown at the moment. But based on previous behavior, the Celtics are unlikely to overpay for Leonard.

The Spurs have an interesting offseason ahead, with the chance for a roster overhaul from one trade.

The Sixers acquired the Miami Heat's unprotected 2021 first-rounder in a draft-day deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Boston might ultimately be unwilling to match San Antonio's asking price because they fear Leonard will be a one-year rental.

However, it now appears that this may have developed this week as Shelburne, along with fellow ESPN insiders Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst, reported that the two teams have re-engaged on trade talks for the two-time All-Star. And while Philadelphia hasn't made any formal offers to San Antonio, SI reports the Sixers have held serious internal discussions about acquiring Leonard over the last 48 hours.
