Anthony Bourdain Had No Narcotics in System at Time of Death

Weeks after his shocking death, Anthony Bourdain's toxicology results have been released. "His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds".

The celebrity chef, journalist and TV show host was found dead in his hotel room by suicide on June 8.

French prosecutor Christian de Rocquigny told The New York Times and USA Today that though there were no narcotics in Bourdain's system, there was non-narcotic medication in therapeutic amounts. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly hard time'. According to the New York Times, his remains and travel belongings were sent to his only sibling, younger brother Christopher Bourdain.

Ms. Bourdain also told The Times that no public memorial service is planned, though a private family ceremony was likely in the future.

Meanwhile, Bourdain's mother has revealed plans to get a tattoo in his memory - despite never having liked her son's considerable ink.




Bourdain was open about his previous battled with drug abuse in his youth, and admitted to being a heroin addict until the 1980s.

Bourdain - who died at the age of 61 - is survived by his 11-year-old daughter Ariane, who is his only child with his ex-wife Ottavia Busia.

Anthony Bourdain's sobriety was intact up until his death. One of those celebrities was Anthony's girlfriend, Asia Argento - one of the most vocal accusers of Harvey Weinstein.
