LeBron James to take time before deciding on future

Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and the rest of the Golden State Warriors shut out King James and the Cleveland Cavaliers by winning game 4 by a score of 108-85, earning the Dubs their third NBA Championship in four years.

Overcoming obstacles all season long, the Warriors were not going to be denied and won the fourth straight finals matchup against Cleveland easily.

LeBron James played the last three games of the NBA Finals with a severe right hand injury. His eighth straight appearance didn't go well either, and now there's uncertainty where the superstar will play next.

"I still have so much to give to the game", James added. The Warriors should have lost Game 1 had it not been for the unbelievable error by JR Smith, so the greatness of this opportunity to sweep, is not lost on them.

And they may stay that way.

"We just know how to win", Curry said.

Golden State got about as bad a performance as you'll ever see from Curry, who shot 1-for-10 from 3-point range and finished with 11 points.

The Warriors used a dominant third quarter to build a 21-point lead that left the Cavaliers' hopes of a series comeback in their wake. Durant stated his case by registering his first playoff triple-double - 20 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists - two nights after nearly singlehanded destroying the Cavs with 43 points, a playoff career-high, and 13 rebounds.

The Golden State Warriors became the NBA's first back-to-back champion since 2013 as they claimed their third title in four years. Cleveland, on the other hand, suffered from a familiar malaise: James had a triple-double - 33 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds - but he didn't have almost enough help. He plopped down in a chair and draped a towel over his broad shoulders, looking like a boxer on a corner stool.

James, meanwhile, had 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists - and precious little help - as he became a Finals sweep victim for a second time.

James, who revealed he had played the final three matches of the 4-0 series defeat with a "self-inflicted" hand injury, has an opt-out in his Cleveland deal this off-season and admits he has some hard decisions to make. But they're one win away from getting their fingerprints all over another Larry O'Brien Trophy.

Heading into the playoffs, the Warriors appeared vulnerable. The Finals MVP was first handed out in 1969.

His departure engendered bitter feelings and burned jerseys, but he came back after two titles and two finals losses in Miami and went 1-3 in four straight finals meetings with the Warriors.

"Every season is very different", Golden State coach Steve Kerr said.

The Warriors got healthy, and now they're on the brink of a dynasty not likely soon forgotten.

One game at a time may be a sports cliche. Curry scored 20 points in the first half, hitting 4-of-6 3-point shots, as Golden State seized a 61-52 half-time edge.

A favorite hasn't emerged to sign James in the event he opts out of the final year of his deal with the Cavaliers, but there is a group of teams that figures to jockey for his services come July 1.

"I have no idea at this point", LeBron said after Golden State swept Cleveland in the NBA Finals.

None of the previous 131 teams which have fallen into a 3-0 hole in the National Basketball Association playoffs has ever rallied to win a series. In only his second game since missing six in a row with a bruised knee, the wise veteran delivered 11 points, nine of them coming from behind the arc.

BROWN OUT - Longtime network broadcaster Hubie Brown injured his knee while sitting courtside preparing before the game.
