In addition to the post positions, the morning-line odds also were assigned, with Justify made the overwhelming favorite at 4-5. "My horses seem to live in it". We have it; we can't change it. "I just feel most importantly the horse is doing well".

The Bob Baffert-trained horse has won the first two legs of the USA thoroughbred racing's famous hat trick - the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes - running from post No. 7.

Justify will line up with nine horses to his right as part of a field that includes five horses he beat during a rain-soaked Kentucky Derby and two he beat at a wet and foggy Preakness Stakes.

The only other horses with single-digit odds are Preakness runner-up Bravazo and Vino Rosso, both at 8-1. The rest of the field is 12-1 or longer.

And history may be on Justify's side. It's an honor to represent another potential Triple Crown victor this year.

The unflappable colt has already erased the "curse of Apollo", winning the 144th Kentucky Derby despite having never run as a 2-year-old, and secured the Preakness despite a thick fog and sloppy conditions.

He followed it up two weeks later at Pimlico, fending off an extended challenge from Good Magic in an enveloping fog on another muddy course, and also from the seven hole, to win by a half-length over Bravazo. He won the Preakness. Baffert, who won the Triple Crown with American Pharoah in 2015, was set to throw out the first pitch. Additionally, Justify will attempt to become the only undefeated horse besides Seattle Slew to achieve what has always been considered among the most hard feats in all of sport: winning three prestigious races at varying lengths in three different states over a five-week span.

Like American Pharoah, Justify's trainer is Bob Baffert, one of the top-earning trainers in the sport. "He came out of nowhere, and now he's picking up steam".

In the draw for post positions on Tuesday, Justify drew the No. 1 gate for the race at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York.

Post time for the 150 Belmont Stakes is scheduled for 5:37 p.m. CDT Saturday.
