A representative for ABC did not immediately reply to a request for comment about the alleged exchange.

TMZ reports that Gilbert has been contacting her "Roseanne" cast members to see how much interest they have in a potential reboot just in case the network moves forward.

The late-night host continued: "But it's also not a mystery to me how a person with a mental illness can be taken in by a party that has lost its mind". She also added a note that she's the most sad about Jayden Rey, the young woman who played Roseanne's black granddaughter on the revival sitcom.

ABC cancelled the show following star Roseanne Barr's series of racist tweets Tuesday about Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to President Barack Obama. Considering Roseanne is attempting to fly under the radar after Roseanne was canceled by ABC, it is likely the two were taking pictures of the van because they didn't want it parked in front of their home.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have chose to cancel her show", ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey announced on Tuesday afternoon.

"I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about (Jarrett's) politics and her looks", Barr tweeted. The star, who has been an outspoken advocate for President Trump, later apologized and said she "begged" Disney-ABC TV Group chief Ben Sherwood not to cancel the series.

What do you think about the controversy and backlash surrounding Roseanne Barr? Here's a phone, she can tweet, but it goes to a different server, there's time... it was madness. I'd worked doing publicity4 them 4free for weeks, travelling, thru bronchitis. Prior to that claim, she said in a tweet that she thought Jarrett "was Saudi" - and then tweeted hours later that she "honestly thought [Jarrett] was Jewish and Persian".

"I feel devastated, not for the end of the Roseanne show, but for all those who poured their hearts and souls into our jobs, and the audience that welcomed us into their homes", he wrote. I should have known better.
