Wonder Woman 2 receives a cryptic and exciting update

It was the best reviewed and highest grosser of the year.

Reports have suggested that the film will be set in the 1980s and possess a Cold War narrative with Kristen Wiig playing the villain Cheetah. DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns has also shared the same image on his Facebook page. Earlier this year at Cinemacon, Jenkins confirmed the movie will be set in the '80s.

Director Patty Jenkins is returning behind the camera for Wonder Woman 2 and is co-writing the script with Dave Callaham (The Expendables, Godzilla) and Johns. Of course, the major event was the Cold War that took place between the United States and Russian Federation, which will definitely have a big part to play in the film.

As you recall, the first film began in modern times, then flashed back to 1917 when Diana Prince first became known as Wonder Woman.

It reads "WW84", which could mean Wonder Woman '84. Her remuneration for the sequel has increased to $9 million from $1 million for the first film, as per a report by Variety.

After the hugely successful first instalment released a year ago, "Wonder Woman 2" will see the return of Gal Gadot in the titular role and newly minted Patty Jenkins in the directors chair.

Apart from Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman 2 will feature one more lady in a prominent role. Pedro Pascal is set to join the cast as well.
