Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has cut five names from his provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but the only Premier Soccer League representative remained part of the selection for Russian Federation.

The forward arrived at the team's Wembley Hilton hotel hours before the rest of the squad touched down from Nigeria.

The Eagles are due to meet Buhari at 10am in the Presidential Villa before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting, while the friendly match against England holds on Saturday.

He said if the second scan confirms the initial result that he will be out for at least three weeks, the winger will be dropped from the World Cup squad.

The 31-year-old will likely be the PSL's only representative at the 2018 tournament.

The Super Eagles informed Stephen Eze, Dele Ajiboye, Junior Lokosa, and Uche Agbo of the decision, while Moses Simon travels with the squad to undergo a medical examination on his injured thigh.

Nigeria's Super Eagles on Wednesday left for London, where they take on England in a friendly this weekend as part of their final preparations for the World Cup in Russian Federation.
